Gavin's maternal grandmother aka 'Namma' (G's and R's are hard when you are little, so "Namma" is the truncated version of Grandma) is the president of the foundation. She aids in running the foundation, fund-raising, and selecting recipients for protective/safety equipment. She has committed her life to ensuring Gavin's dream of protecting K9s officers stays alive.

Gavin Buchanan Memorial Foundation trustees set policies relating to operations, spending, management, governance, and professional standards, and they oversee internal and independent audits. They also review the performance of the president and all foundation officers. There is NO financial compensation for serving on the Board.
Our Board of Trustees is currently composed of 10 members, including the president. Nominated by a trustee committee, and appointed by the full board, trustees generally serve lifelong terms. The board, board committees, and individual trustees are evaluated on a regular basis.
